Bellator MMA Adds Four Bouts to June 26 Kansas Card
Bellator
MMA announced the addition of four more bouts to its June 26
card in Kansas.
Bellator 139 is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Cheick Kongo and Russian knockout artist Alexander Volkov, but an assortment of battles has just been added to the roster.
Bantamweight prospects Jeimeson
Saudino and Aaron Ely will
face off; Bobby
Cooper will take on Pablo
Villaseca in a lightweight encounter; Daniel
Gallemore will clash with fellow heavyweight Augusto
Sakai; and in a women’s featherweight tilt, Iony
Razafiarison will duke it out with Bryanna
Fissori.
Saudino, from Kansas, badly needs a win as he has dropped three consecutive bouts in other organizations. He’s hoping to turn the tides in his favor against fellow Kansan Ely, who has similarly struggled recently, having only one win in his last three fights. Ely hasn’t fought in over two years, though.
Cooper, who hails from Missouri, lost his last time out, but he was 5-1 before that. He’s obviously looking to reverse his fortunes against Villaseca, who has yet to lose as a pro. The Chilean has stopped 66 percent of his opposition, but he’s been inactive for a year.
Local fighter Gallemore may have started off his MMA career slowly, but he’s been on a roll lately, having won three straight coming into his bout with Sakai. Gallemore will likely have to be on point against the Brazilian, though, as he has knocked out almost every single man he’s faced in the pros. Only one opponent went the distance, but he lost.
For Razafiarison, an undefeated submission specialist from France, she takes on Fissori who only has one fight as a pro but has a lengthy amateur career. Fissori, from Hawaii, last fought in October where she knocked out Catalina Madril in just 33 seconds.
Bellator 139 is scheduled to take place inside the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, just southeast of Wichita. The main card will be televised live on Spike TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT with the prelims being streamed on Spike.com at 6:45 p.m. ET/3:45 p.m. PT.
