Moraes is looking to rebound from the first losing streak of his career, having dropped a decision to Anthony Rocco Martin, and most recently, a knockout loss to Alves. When "The Panther" drew with Luan Chagas at UFC 198 in 2016, they earned what at the time was only the sixth split draw in promotional history, and the third in a non-title or non-tournament bout. A finalist as an injury replacement on "The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil" at middleweight, the Sao Paulo native is unbeaten in seven bouts when fighting in his home city.
Krause, on the other hand, is on a five-fight win streak dating back to 2015. His last victory came against Alves, over whom he scored a knockout and a sizeable upset back in August 2018. Krause is one of a small number of UFC fighters including Joe Stevenson and Roxanne Modafferi to ever compete on multiple seasons of "The Ultimate Fighter," appearing on seasons 15 and 25. While he did not win either season, he has competed inside the Octagon since 2013.
UFC Sao Paulo will occur at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Nov. 16. Although a main event has not been announced, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will square off with Trevor Smith at light heavyweight, while Kevin Holland meets the debuting Antonio Arroyo at middleweight.
