Andreas Hale Joins Press Row

Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by 2DopeBoyz and Sherdog columnist Andreas Hale.

Aug. 31 marks three years since Anthony Pettis submitted Benson Henderson for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 164 in his hometown of Milwaukee. Breen and Hale reflect on Pettis' thrilling title win, how long ago it seems given the volatility of the 155-pound division and what awaits Pettis next at 145 pounds, with his third-round submission debut at UFC on Fox 21 over Charles Oliveira. The two also dig into how Pettis' featherweight fate, as well as the futures of many UFC 145- and 155-pounders, is tied to the whims of Conor McGregor.

Breen and Hale discuss whether or not McGregor will ever defend the UFC featherweight title, the potential of a Jose Aldo-Max Holloway bout if McGregor moves on to 155, if Aldo will eventually follow the Irishman to 155 pounds, how “The Notorious” one stacks up with UFC lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez and the surprisingly static state of Bellator MMA's 145-pound division.

Grab your credential and get a seat in “Press Row.”
