Lion Fight, North America’s premier muay Thai promotion, revealed on Friday that its second event of 2017 is going to be a corker.
The co-feature will see women’s lightweight champ Antonina Shevchenko taking on challenger Aleide Lawant. The sister of UFC star Valentina Shevchenko, the champ has already defended her crown twice; by dominating both Paola Cappucci and Ilona Wijmans. Lawant captured the Captains Tournament title while fighting in Europe for Enfusion and is set for her Lion Fight debut against one of the best.
Rounding out Lion Fight 35 will be Naurepol Fairtex taking on Amadeu Cristiano; Chip Moraza-Pollard opposing Scott Noble; and Jeri Sitzes versus Ruth Ashdown. Additional bouts for Lion Fight 35, which takes place at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., on March 3, will be announced in the coming days. AXS TV will televise the action beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
