Dominick Cruz Believes His Style Will Cause Renan Barao Problems

Dominick Cruz, on “Beatdown,” discussing the problems he’ll cause Renan Barao:

“I think I better understand everybody in the division than they understand me. I think that’s the problem that I present to everybody in the division. I think a lot of people call what I do ‘weird’ because they don’t understand it. Really a lot of the stuff I’m doing is basic boxing angles, basic boxing footwork and I’m just setting things up a little differently because there’s knees, takedowns, elbows and all that other stuff involved. … I think the big problem is people don’t really understand what I’m doing or how I’m doing it, so they have to adjust to me, and that’s something I’m going to give a problem to Barao with for sure.”
