Edwin Rodriguez to Fight Michael Seals via PBC on Spike Card Nov. 13

Light heavyweight contender Edwin Rodriguez will be facing off against unbeaten contender Michael Seals in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions’ PBC on Spike TV card, slated for Nov. 13. The event will be held at the Beau River Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Miss. The live telecast portion of the card will be aired beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

A former top contender at 168, Rodriguez was dominating the opposition and eventually landed a chance at the world title. Unfortunately, he came up short against pound-for-pound entrant Andre Ward two years back and lost a decision. Since then, Rodriguez has reeled off three straight wins, including a third-round knockout of Craig Baker in May.

Now campaigning at 175 pounds, Rodriguez is on a mission to prove his worth in one of the most stacked divisions in all of boxing.

"This is a huge opportunity for me to clearly cement myself as one of the best 175-pounders in all of boxing," said Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KOs) in a statement. "Michael Seals is coming to fight and I know what a win means for him and his career. That being said, this is going to be my night. A win on Nov. 13 moves me a major step closer to challenging for a piece of the light heavyweight crown, and there's nothing and no one that will get in my way of achieving that.”

Seals (19-0, 14 KOs) doesn’t know what it’s like to lose. He’s been steamrolling everybody in his path, though he hasn’t yet taken on the sort of opposition that Rodriguez has, and he hasn’t faced anybody as skilled or experienced as Rodriguez, either. Still, Seals is confident that he will be able to pass the next test out in front of him.

"I've remained focused mentally and in my training to make sure that I was completely prepared for my opportunity when the time came,” Seals said. “I have a strong base and have been blessed with a chance to show the world my talents. I will be ready to go when the bell rings on Nov.13."

A co-featured bout and a full undercard is expected to be released soon.
