Glory 31 SuperFight Series Undercard Sees Some Shakeup
Glory 31 was shaping up to be a memorable event for kickboxing
junkies across the globe, but on Thursday afternoon the promotional
giant announced a major shakeup to its card, which is slated to go
down on June 25 in Amsterdam.
Glory light heavyweight champion Artem Vakhitov had to pull out of his title defense against Mourad Bouzidi (79-22-2, 34 KOs) due to an injury in training. Stepping in for the champ will be Zack Mwekassa (14-3, 12 KOs).
The newly-created women’s super bantamweight division already had to alter its Grand Prix when Iman Barlow became injured as well. Filling in for Barlow will be Irina Mazepa (10-19, 5 KOs), who will face Isis Verbeek (8-2, 5 KOs). Mazepo was originally supposed to take on Ferial Ameeroedien in the tournament reserve bout; Ameeroedien will be rebooked with a new opponent soon.
Maximo Suarez (38-4, 21 KOs) will oppose Eyevan Danenberg in the first bout of the SuperFight Series undercard, which will stream live on UFC Fight Pass. Also slated for the undercard will be a lightweight duel between Josh Jauncey and Anatoly Moiseev as well as a featherweight bout between Mosab Amrani and Eddy Nait-Slimani.
