Glory 37: Los Angeles Card Nearly Finalized
Glory, hot off its spectacular Glory 36: Germany and Glory:
Collision mega event last week, has finalized its next event, which
takes place on Jan. 20 in Los Angeles. The event will invade the
L.A. LIVE entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles.
Glory 37: Los Angeles is set to be headlined by new middleweight champion Jason “Psycho” Wilnis (29-6-1, 8 KOs) making his first defense against Israel Adesanya (65-3, 27 KOs). Wilnis won the middleweight crown by conquering huge favorite Simon Marcus at Glory 33 in September; Adesanya was granted a chance at Glory gold when he won the one-night, four-man contender tournament at Glory 34.
The co-featured duel will see Guto Inocente (32-7, 17 KOs) squaring
off against an opponent to be named shortly. Rounding out the Glory
37 main card will be a four-man welterweight tournament. The
opening round will see Yoann Kongolo (62-8, 45 KOs) taking on
Konstantin Khuzin (7-2, 1 KO) while Karim Benmansour (47-6-2, 22
KOs) will oppose Alan Scheinson.
The Glory 37 SuperFight Series undercard will be anchored by Robin Van Roosmalen (36-6, 20 KOs) defending his featherweight title against Matt Embree (39-7, 18 KOs). The bout was originally slated for the top of the marquee on the main card, but it was bumped in favor of Wilnis-Adesanya.
Capping off the undercard will be Jhonata Diniz (8-5, 5 KO) fighting Tomas Mozny (15-4-1, 6 KO); Mike Lemaire (18-3, 8 KO) against Warren Thompson (11-8-1, 3 KO); Zoila Frausto (4-0, 2 KO) locking horns with Daniela Graf (24-5-1, 2 KOs); and Giga Chikadze (36-5, 21 KO) versus Victor Pinto (72-26, 22 KOs).
Glory 37: Los Angeles will air live on ESPN3 at 1 a.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, which will follow the SuperFight Series undercard, which will stream live on UFC Fight Pass at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
