Saturday night’s fights from the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio,
Calif., are a go as all the main card fighters were able to make
weight. Headlined by welterweight clash for a regional title,
unbeaten Russian Dmitry Mikhaylenko will lock horns with
Venezuela’s John Perez.
Both of the headliner’s combatants easily made the 147-pound limit. Perez (20-2-1, 13 KOs) came in at exactly 147 pounds while Mikhaylenko (19-0, 8 KOs) was a pound lighter.
In the co-feature, Yoandris Salinas (21-1-2, 14 KOs) will face off against Manuel Avila (17-0, 7 KOs) in a 10-round super bantamweight match. Salinas came in at 122 pounds while his opponent was four ounces lighter.
The event will be televised live on HBO Latino starting at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.
