Josh Thomson, on “Beatdown,” discussing his future:
“Nothing’s really going to happen until I’m healthy anyways. [No] decisions will be made. Nothing will be made, talked about. I haven’t talked to Dana [White] or Joe [Silva] or any of those guys yet, or Lorenzo [Fertitta] or anybody, talking about kind of what the future holds for the 155-pound class, what direction they’re looking to go and things like that. Realistically that’s all it is, is just really wanting to know where everybody stands. T.J. [Grant] is out. I don’t know if [Gilbert Melendez] is having contract problems or what, but he hasn’t got a fight yet, and last I heard just by people texting me and Twittering me, asking me how I felt about [Anthony] Pettis and [Jose] Aldo -- I guess that fight’s going to happen, so that pushes any chance of me getting a title shot back even further. I’m just going to kick back and kind of just see how things unfold for right now.”
