Unbeaten super bantamweight prospect Adam Lopez had a heck of a time against Roman Reynoso in the biggest test of his career thus far, and while he didn’t come out of his main event battle with the win, he emerged without suffering a loss.
Reynoso’s plan nearly backfired in the 10th, though, when Lopez (15-0-1, 7 KOs) staggered him with a stinging combo, but Reynoso hung tough until the final bell. In the end, the fight was too close to call and it wound up being declared a draw. One judge had it 96-94 for Lopez, the second saw it for Reynoso 97-93 and the final official had it even at 95-95.
In the co-feature, super middleweight Jerry Odom torched Julius Jackson, ending the duel with one punch in the third. Jackson (19-2, 15 KOs) was drilled by a massive right to the face and he crumbled in a heap, out cold. The official time of the knockout came at 1:57 of the frame, allowing Odom to rise to 14-2-1 with 13 KOs.
Also on the telecast, lightweight Rolando Chinea (13-1-1, 6 KOs) won an eight-round split decision over O’Shaquie Foster (10-2, 7 KOs) and Ian Green (10-1, 8 KOs) iced Khiary Gray (13-1, 10 KOs) with a volley of punches, ending it at 2:50 of the second of their junior middleweight contest.
