Nate Wilcox Joins Press Row

Every Wednesday, Administrative Editor Jordan Breen welcomes a member of the mixed martial arts media into “Press Row” on the Sherdog.com blog. This week, Breen is joined by Nate Wilcox, founding editor of BloodyElbow.com

The idea that UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao “can't sell” remains a major part of his pre-fight discussions. Breen and Wilcox investigate the 135-pound king's unenviable position, the slow burn and sustained exposure that allowed the likes of Anderson Silva and Georges St. Pierre to become pay-per-view stars and the struggle to find the Brazilian an intriguing challenger. The two also look at the particularly poor promotion of UFC 173, including a particularly bizarre PPV promo from a local Texan cable provider.

Breen and “Kid Nate” also look at UFC boss Dana White's Tuesday Twitter spat with MMA journalist Ben Fowlkes, White's claims of “not reading the internet,” whether or not UFC 173 can generate the internet traffic and buzz of Bellator 120 and much more.

Grab your credential and get a seat in “Press Row.”
