By Mike Sloan May 19, 2017
Premier Boxing Champions is set to return to FS1 on Saturday with a solid night of action from inside Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas. Headlining the marquee is a pivotal super middleweight encounter with championship implications for the winner.

David Benavidez, and undefeated young stud from Phoenix, is set for one of the stiffest tests of his career as he takes on Rogelio Medina. Benavidez (17-0, 16 KOs) has torn apart everybody he’s faced to date and he expects to to do the same against Medina. At Friday’s weigh-ins, the favored Benavidez came in at 167.8 pounds.

Medina, meanwhile, is the most experienced opponent that Benavidez will have faced up to this point. “Porky” knocked pout J’Leon Love and took one Badou Jack, though he came up short in that fight. Medina also challenged for the IBF 168-pound title, though he lost on point to James DeGale. Medina (37-7, 31 KOs) weighed in at 166.8 pounds.

The action will be televised live on FS1 beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
