Rico Verhoeven to Defend heavyweight Crown at Glory 41: Holland
Glory’s heavyweight champion will be back in action next month when
Rico Verhoeven (50-10, 14 KOs) defends his throne against an
opponent to be determined. Glory announced on Wednesday that “The
King of Kickboxing” has been booked to anchor Glory 41: Holland on
May 20 at Brabanthallen Exhibition Centre in Den Bosch.
Promotion officials revealed previously that a four-man heavyweight tournament will help round up out the Glory 41 main card, though the participants have yet to be revealed. The scheduled skirmish between Mike Lemaire (18-4, 8 KOs) and Chinese newcomer Zhou Wei (22-6) has been scrapped from the card altogether and will be rescheduled for a future Glory event.
Robin Van Roosmalen (37-7, 21 KOs), a former lightweight and featherweight champion for the promotion, will take on Glory 39 tournament winner Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao (156-35-2, 25 KOs) for the vacant Glory featherweight title. Their duel will headline the Glory 41 SuperFight Series undercard, which will also feature a lightweight battle between Michael Duut (40-6, 17 KOs) and Mourad Bouzidi (79-22-2, 34 KOs).
Additional bouts for both the Glory 41: Holland main card and SuperFight Series undercard will be announced in the coming weeks. Exact U.S. broadcasting information has yet to be determined.
