Roc Nation Sports Announces First Event, ‘Throne Boxing’ at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 9

Jay-Z’s sports agency Roc Nation Sports announced Jan. 9 as the date for its first ever boxing event “Throne Boxing” on Tuesday.

The card will be headlined by a 10-round bout featuring Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (24-0, 13 KOs) against Tommy Rainone (22-5-1, 4 KOs) and will take place inside the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The event will be the first of three that air live on Fox Sports 1.

In addition to the boxing action, the press release also advertises live performances by Roc Nation musical artists. The promoters will be donating one dollar from every ticket sold to the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Ky.

Roc Nation Sports had originally planned to hold its inaugural event before the conclusion of 2014, obtaining licences to promote cards in both New York, as well as Washington, D.C.
