Showtime Boxing Weigh-in Results: Baranchyk, Ramos on Weight

Showtime’s long-running boxing series ShoBox: The New Generation returns Friday with another solid tripleheader. The event will take place at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma, and is set to be anchored by a super lightweight encounter between Ivan Baranchyk and Abel Ramos and at Thursday’s weigh-ins, everybody on the main card made weight.

Baranchyk (13-0, 10 KOs) opened his pro career with 10 knockouts in his first 11 bouts and while the Minsk native has gone the distance in his last two outings, the former amateur standout is excited about the progress he’s made thus far. He captured a regional title last September by out-pointing then-unbeaten Zhimin Wang and is set for the first defense of that belt against Ramos. Baranchyk officially scaled in at 140 pounds.

Ramos (17-1-2, 12 KOs) has rebounded nicely since losing to highly-touted prospect Regis Prograis in ’15. The Pennsylvanian has scored three straight knockouts and is eager to prove his worth against Baranchyk. Not to be outdone, Ramos came in at 139.5 pounds.

The action will be televised live on Showtime beginning at 10:05 p.m. ET/7:05 p.m. PT from within Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Okla.
