Stiverne, Molina Added to Russell Jr.-Escandon Card in Las Vegas
According to a report by ESPN.com, former heavyweight titleholder
Bermane Stiverne will take on Derric Rossy in the co-headlining
slot underneath the Gary Russell Jr.-Oscar Esandon main event,
which will be televised live by Showtime from inside the Hard Rock
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Stiverne (24-2-1, 21 KOs), who lost his WBC heavyweight belt to Deontay Wilder in January, will look to get back on track against Rossy (30-10, 14 KOs), who has lost five of his last seven bouts.
Also slated to appear on the card will be junior welterweight contender John Molina Jr. (27-6, 22 KOs) taking on an opponent to be named. The bout will be Molina’s first since the Nevada Athletic Commission fined him $90,000 and suspended him for seven months for testing positive for the banned diuretic Furosemide following a decision loss to Adrien Broner in March.
