On Sept. 21, 2013, the Octagon returned to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where a light heavyweight title fight headlined UFC 165.

The main event saw Jon Jones beat Alexander Gustafsson by decision to defend his belt. It was an incredibly interesting fight, one which many thought was going to be an easy win for “Bones” but which turned out to be one of the toughest challenges of his career.

In the co-main event, Renan Barao defended his interim bantamweight title with a TKO win over Eddie Wineland. UFC 165 also saw Brendan Schaub submit Matt Mitrione, while other notable names like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Stephen Thompson picked up wins, as well.
