Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones stands alone atop the Sherdog.com pound-for-pound rankings.
Since claiming the 205-pound belt from Mauricio Rua a little more than two years ago, Jones has looked nearly untouchable, defending his title five times and finishing four of those challengers: Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida and Quinton Jackson. The 25-year-old Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts representative will put his light heavyweight gold on the line against surging Swede Alexander Gustafsson in the UFC 165 headliner on Sept. 21 in Toronto.
St. Pierre, meanwhile, has been nothing if not consistent since reclaiming the UFC welterweight championship in April 2008. However, he has recorded only three finishes during his 11-fight winning streak and has gone the distance in each of his last six appearances. The 32-year-old Canadian will meet Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 on Nov. 16 in Las Vegas.
