Through his love of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts, Anthony Bourdain has become a notable if peripheral figure in the fight game, so perhaps it's no surprise that for the latest episode of his food and travel program “Parts Unknown,” Bourdain brought some combatants into the culinary realm.

In the ninth-season premiere of “Parts Unknown,” which aired this past Sunday on CNN, Bourdain profiles the Latino communities of Los Angeles and the surrounding area with celebrities from tough guy actor Danny Trejo to famed tattooist Mister Cartoon. Also on that roster? Cesar Gracie Fight Team products Nick and Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez.

Over a seafood dinner, Melendez dishes on the role of rice and beans in Mexican and Californian cuisine, the elder Diaz discusses his preference for a vegetarian lifestyle while Nate gives a shoutout to Cafe Gratitude in Venice Beach.
