TUF 11 Sherblog: The Most Overlooked Guy
By: Court McGee
It was getting down to the wire. The top two guys picked to win the show are out and two of the most overlooked guys were in the semifinals. You never know what will happen in the cage.

I was stoked to see Josh Bryant beat Jamie Yager, mainly because Bryant was my sparring partner most of the time and I knew how good he really was. Although that meant I would most likely have to fight one of my teammates, that was something I was prepared for in the beginning and felt good about. I never forgot what I was here for. -
TUF 11 Sherblog: Bring on Godzilla

The quarterfinal bouts would get picked after the wildcard fight, which pitted Kris McCray against Kyacey Uscola, which was some crazy s--t. Kyacey had his first child -- a little boy -- and everybody was really happy for him. I remember when my son was born, too. It was one of the most amazing experiences I had ever felt. I could not imagine what Kyacey was going through, being away when that was happening. He was very excited. If you ask me, that's one dedicated fighter to miss the birth of your first child for the possibility of a lifetime opportunity, an opportunity he had chosen to better the life of his child. I give you props, bro.

Unfortunately for him, McCray came out with the win. I had thought that Kyacey would leave if he lost, but he didn’t. He trucked it out. -
TUF 11 Sherblog: These Shoes Smell Like Cocaine

Obviously, I was a little frustrated with the decision, but I kept my composure. I didn’t want to make an ass of myself. I thought I deserved a third round. I had a feeling, I’d get picked for the wild card, but wasn’t sure.

It didn’t happen exactly like the episode shows it. Me vs. Nick Ring and Joe Henle vs. Seth Baczynski went down on the same night. I was the sixth fight; they were the seventh. Immediately after the fight ended we all showered and were getting ready to leave, but the producers herded us back into the gym. We all sat down, as Dana walked in with a card in his hand. You guys know the rest.
I was dumbfounded that he was giving me an opportunity to fight again and definitely grateful. However, I would have rather fought five more minutes than gotten a free move to the next round. Still, I’m very thankful I can fight again and have a chance to win this whole thing. -
TUF 11 Sherblog: It Sucks, But It’s Reality
By: Court McGee
We’re at the conclusion of the first round of fights in the house and Chuck picked me to fight Nick Ring. I had asked him a week or so before how he had felt about me fighting Nick and all of my coaches agreed that it was a good match.

I tapered off practice a little bit and cut weight without too much trouble. The weigh-ins ran about two hours late. Like usual, we were waiting on the commission. The morale on our team was good, as our practices were solid and strategic.
The only thing that sucked was that I was missing my family. I think everyone in the house was kind of missing their regular lifestyle. That’s one of the downfalls of the show is that you had no contact with your family. It either helped keep your focus or broke you. Even though I was missing my family, it definitely was a motivational factor for me.
