(PRESS RELEASE) -- Texas based mixed martial arts fight promotion company, Shark Fight Promotions, announced today that local fan favorite Marcus "Money" Sursa will take on UFC veteran Trevor Prangley in the main event at Shark Fight 7. The victor will claim Shark Fights first light heavyweight championship title. Shark Fight 7 will take place on Saturday November 28th, at the Azteca Music Hall in Amarillo Texas.
Amarillo fan favorite, Marcus "Money" Sursa (5-4), secured his third straight win and a shot at the title after defeating Issac Villanueva at Shark Fight 6. Sursa, who has remained undefeated during his time with Shark Fight Promotions, is ready to prove that he has what it takes to be the organizations Light Heavyweight Champion.
Sursa is ready to step into the cage and is confident that he will claim the Shark Fight light heavyweight title, "I am very excited about this title fight. It's a great opportunity for me. This is the fight that I've been waiting for, and that my fans have been waiting for. I'm confident that on November 28th, when the fight is over, my hand will be raised in victory with the championship belt around my waist. "
Sursa also stated, "Trevor Prangley has fought for some of the top fight organizations in the industry. I have no doubt that he's a tough competitor, but my game is solid. I'm at the top of my game right now. I'm ready both mentally and physically for this fight."
Sursa will face Trevor Prangley (21-5), who has fought for the UFC, Bodog FIGHT, Strikeforce, and several other prominent fight organizations. Prangley, who is riding a 4 fight win streak, recently defeated Dennis Reed 20 seconds into the first round, via TKO, at the Arena Rumble in Washington. Prangley also claimed the Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) light heavyweight title earlier this year, with a win over Emanuel Newton.
According to Brent Medley, President of Shark Fight Promotions, "The much anticipated fight for the Shark Fight light heavyweight title is finally here. Marcus Sursa has been very vocal over the past year about his desire to fight for the championship belt. At Shark Fight 6, after he defeated Villanueva, we promised Marcus and the fans, that his next fight would be for the title."
Medley went on to say, "We were very strategic when choosing an opponent for Marcus. We wanted the best possible match up for this title fight, and I believe we accomplished that when we secured Trevor Prangley. Prangley is no stranger to the cage. He's fought a long list of high profile fighters, including Travis Lutter, Jeremy Horn, and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Renato Sobral. Sursa's skills will definitely be tested during this fight. The entire Shark Fight 7 card is stacked with compelling matching ups. We will be announcing the full line up soon."
ESPN 1440 recently partnered with Shark Fight Promotions to air the first live radio broadcast of a mixed martial arts event in the U.S. The live coverage of Shark Fight 6 on ESPN 1440 radio was so well received by sports fans that the live radio broadcast is back by popular demand.
