Los Angeles, CA – The excitement, power and fury of Mixed Martial
Arts has reached new audiences on DVD with BCI Eclipse’s line of
PRIDE Fighting Championships. Now it’s time to meet some of the
sport’s most popular superstars at a special, one-time-only
appearance at Best Buy in West Hollywood, Saturday, September 3rd
at 3:00 p.m.

Hidehiko Yoshida (Pictures) - A legend in the world of Judo, this Japanese star has successfully competed in the Judo World Championships and the Olympics, having won a gold medal in 1992 Barcelona. Intent on proving the effectiveness of Judo, Yoshida began training for a career in mixed martial arts, and today, the words of advice to all opponents is “avoid the clinch!” Hidehiko Yoshida (Pictures) has fought some of the toughest competitors in the sport including Wanderlei Silva (Pictures), Mark Hunt (Pictures) and 2000 Olympic Greco-Roman Gold Medalist Rulon Gardner.
Phil “The New York Bad Ass” Baroni -Love him or hate him, Phil Baroni (Pictures)’s talent in the ring is undeniable. This “New York Bad Ass” isn’t shy when it comes to showmanship and trash talk….and he backs it all up once the bell rings. Originally a professional body builder, Baroni boasts a strong style combination of boxing and wrestling. This self-proclaimed “people’s champ” now has one goal in mind—the PRIDE belt!

(Pictures) represents the Yoshida Dojo
and is the protégé of Judo legend and 1992 Judo Olympic gold
medallist, Hidehiko
Yoshida (Pictures). A black belt under Yoshida,
Nakamura is very well respected in the Judo community in his own
right and like his teacher, he has chosen to display his Judo
skills in the arena of mixed martial arts. In order to prepare
himself and balance his fighting abilities, Nakamura has been cross
training primarily in boxing. However, perhaps his greatest
advantage as a competitor is his calm demeanor … Nakamura claims he
