With the first chapter of 2008 having come to an end, it's time to update Sherdog.com's divisional rankings. Though January wasn't the busiest month we've seen, there were critical bouts across the weight-class spectrum that resulted in some popular fighters shooting up the rankings while others were removed completely.

As per Sherdog's ranking criteria, inactivity in a weight division over a 12-month period requires removal from the list. Middleweight Matt Lindland (Pictures) becomes the latest fighter to suffer this fate.
