Sherdog.com Preview: UFC 54 Liddell vs. Horn
Introduction
Aug 17, 2005
Sometimes you just need to settle a score. You can try to forget
it, downplay its significance or even chalk it up to experience,
believing whatever didn’t kill you, made you stronger. But
sometimes it just won’t go away.
UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell (Pictures) finds himself in position to take revenge for his first career defeat. It has been six years since Jeremy Horn (Pictures) submitted him, but Liddell was new to the sport in 1999.
Sure Horn has his losses — more than a dozen — however the straight-talking light heavyweight has more wins than most guys will ever have fights.
Horn, who turns 30 on August 25, hasn’t fought exclusively in the bigger shows over the last few years. But it hasn’t taken any of the fire to compete out of his belly. He’s been away from the UFC for four years (30-3-1 in that time) and now he’s back for a title shot.
