Sherdog.com Preview: UFC 54 “Boiling Point” Part I
Monday, August 15, 2005
A former UFC heavyweight champion’s return to the Octagon plus an important bout for UFC middleweight contender Matt Lindland (Pictures) highlight Part I of Sherdog.com’s look at UFC 54: “Boiling Point.”

While much of the focus heading into Saturday’s card from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, is centered on the light heavyweight championship match between Chuck Liddell (Pictures) and Jeremy Horn (Pictures), there’s also a stellar group of fights before it.

Our first look at the card shines a light on, well, the dark matches — James Irvin (Pictures) vs. Terry Martin (Pictures); Travis Lutter (Pictures) vs. Trevor Prangley (Pictures); Matt Lindland (Pictures) vs. Joe Doerksen (Pictures) — as well as Tim Sylvia (Pictures)’s potential slugfest against veteran Tra Telligman (Pictures).

On Tuesday, we’ll break down the rest of the under card and wade hip-deep into Liddell vs. Horn II.
