Saimon Oliveira (18-4, 0-1 UFC) vs. Daniel Marcos (13-0, 0-0 UFC)

ODDS: Oliveira (-170), Marcos (+145)

Oliveira seems to be all about bringing the entertainment, as the Brazilian’s style is built mostly around finding a finish. While Oliveira has a penchant for throwing spinning strikes, he finds his most success with what has become his signature guillotine choke. After winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021, Oliveira’s lone UFC fight saw him fall victim to his own prior success. He kept hunting for that guillotine and left himself in a position to get consistently outwrestled by Tony Gravely. After roughly a year off, Oliveira returns looking for a win against a UFC newcomer in Marcos, himself a signee off DWCS in September. A native of Peru, it was unclear how well Marcos’ game would translate outside of his regional scene. He established himself as a physical force against weak competition, and his Dana White’s Contender Series bout was his first fight in nearly three years. However, Marcos looked stout and much-improved as a striker in a clean decision win and could find his path to some UFC success. If this goes into deeper waters, Marcos has a clear size advantage and enough consistency to take things over, but the bet is that Oliveira can force a collision or two and quickly find the Peruvian’s neck before things start to go south. The pick is Oliveira via first-round submission.
