Roger Hollett will likely
fight next at MFC 20.
Hollett Talks Loss

“I’m fine,” said a disappointed Roger Hollett two days following his unanimous decision loss to Emanuel Newton at MFC 19 “Long Time Coming” last Friday.

The light heavyweight crusher from Fairview, Nova Scotia, spent the majority of the five rounds slowly stalking the elusive Newton, waiting for a chance to drop him with his powerful fists. This never materialized though, as Newton wisely used his speed to avoid getting caught in a corner or against the ropes.

“I felt good in there and thought I was getting the cleaner shots in,” Hollett said, “but he was the more active fighter so it went his way.”

At times during the fight, Hollett’s coaches Rob Walker and Kevin Taylor were yelling at him to pick up the pace.

“I was taking my time too much,” Hollett agreed. “I tried to stalk him and pick my shots and he stayed busier than me and I’ll have to correct that. I should have turned it on a lot more.”

Hollett will likely fight next at MFC 20 “Destined for Greatness” on Feb. 20 in Edmonton.

Send an email to acotterill@sherdog.com with your best question and if it’s a good one Georges will answer it in the weeks leading up to his clash with BJ Penn at UFC 94 on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas.

Please limit yourself to one or two questions for consideration.
