Chandler was forced to put his showdown with Brent Primus on hold when the Bellator MMA lightweight champion withdrew from their rematch with a knee injury. Into the void steps Girtz, an NCAA All-American wrestler who has established himself as one of the organization’s most trusted competitors. The 33-year-old last fought at Bellator 190 on Dec. 9, when he snapped a three-fight losing streak and put away Luka Jelcic with punches in less than two minutes. Chandler, 31, has rattled off five wins in six appearances. He has lost to only three men: Primus, Eddie Alvarez and Will Brooks (twice).
