Entwistle spoiled the Octagon debut of the former Maximum Fighting Championship titleholder with a first-round heel hook in a preliminary bantamweight scrap at the U.S. Airways Center. Birchak tapped out 64 seconds into Round 1, his five-fight winning streak coming to a painful end. Birchak struck for a quick takedown behind a Superman punch and postured inside the Englishman’s spidery guard, leaving his foot vulnerable while he dropped heavy blows in a failed bid to set the tone. Entwistle bit down on the heel hook, maintained the maneuver through a series of defensive rolls from the Arizonan and ultimately secured the finish.
