10. Gegard Mousasi

Fighters from the Netherlands are not generally known for being overly loquacious, and Mousasi fits the mold perfectly. Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Peter Aerts and others were not exactly media darlings in their heydays, and “The Dreamcatcher” seems to be cut from the same cloth.

After bursting onto the major MMA scene in Pride Fighting Championships and Dream, Mousasi moved to Strikeforce and was heralded by some as the future of the sport. His combination of power and submission prowess was invigorating and allowed him to succeed across multiple weight classes, but fans and media knew little about the man because he was so elusive. Mousasi’s answers to questions are often short, his demeanor subdued. Now 30, the former Strikeforce and Dream champion has remained true to himself in compiling a 37-6-2 career record with 31 finishes.
