Anchored at the American Kickboxing Academy, Ambrose trains under the same roof as UFC heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez and UFC welterweight standouts Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck and Mike Swick. The 23-year-old has rattled off four consecutive victories since his submission loss to Mike Pyle at Affliction “Banned” in July 2008. Ambrose has secured eight of his 13 career victories by submission. He last competed in July, when he choked Gyo Pyung Hwang unconscious with an anaconda choke at a Pacific Xtreme Combat show in Guam.
