Fireplug Marcus Hicks was simply way too much for the out-gunned Ed Ratcliff (Pictures). He pushed Ratcliff around the cage with punches and takedowns and eventually locked on a fight-ending guillotine for the submission at 1:42.

Steve Cantwell (Pictures) also made quick work of his opponent, submitting Tim McKenzie (Pictures) with a superb rear-naked choke at the 2:13 mark of the first round. He bombarded McKenzie early, dished out a few hard elbows and knees and then secured the finish.

Hiromitsu Miura (Pictures) scored the knockout of the night as he blasted out Blas Avena (Pictures) in the first round. Miura dropped Avena seconds into the contest with a left hook, but the Mexican-American recovered quickly.

However, after another punch that sent Avena to the canvas, Miura uncorked two sinister right hands that knocked him out cold and completely limp at 2:35 of the opening stanza.

John Alessio (Pictures) was disqualified 1:50 into his fight with Brock Larson (Pictures). After Alessio perfectly swept Larson from a full mount, the Canadian pelted his opponent with a right knee to the jaw while Larson was still on his gloves and knees. The strike was too severe, and Larson could not continue, thus disqualifying Alessio. The two combatants traded verbal barbs afterward, which could have set up a rematch.

Richard Crunkilton (Pictures) dominated Sergio Gomez (Pictures) en route to a unanimous three-round decision. Crunkilton was stronger, quicker, landed the better strikes and out-wrestled his opponent to win a well-deserved victory. The judges favored "Cleat" by margins of 30-26, 30-27 and 29-28.

Alex Serdyukov (Pictures) scored a fabulous triangle choke submission of Ryan Stonitsch (Pictures), forcing him to tap out in just 95 seconds. Stonitsch stumbled over his own feet after an exchange. From there, Serdyukov went from a rear-naked to a triangle choke, ending the fight almost as quickly as it started.

Chris Manuel (Pictures) and Kenji Osawa (Pictures) fought a lackluster three rounds for a split draw. One judge saw it 29-28 for Osawa, another had it 29-28 for Manuel and the third scored it even at 28-28.

In the opening bout, Logan Clark (Pictures) swarmed Scott Harper for an impressive first-round TKO. Harper was trapped underneath late in the first and couldn't escape. Clark rained down punches and elbows until referee Josh Rosenthal stopped the fight at 4:37.
