Faber vs. Brown II on Versus

The rematch between Mike Thomas Brown and Urijah Faber for the World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight title is set for June 7 and will air on Versus, not on pay-per-view, according to several reports this week. The fight, about the biggest marquee match the WEC currently can make, was a candidate to headline the promotion’s first pay-per-view effort. Both fighters have pushed for the fight to be on pay-per-view and for a heavy marketing push. Brown defeated Faber in November with a hard right hook that countered a flailing back-elbow from Faber as he pushed off the fence.

Versus.com's Ariel Helwani reported that the show, WEC 41, was being considered for pay-per-view until late last week. It will take place at the Arco Arena in Faber's hometown of Sacramento, California.
