A contract winner of the Contender Series this past August, Eduarda Moura is an intriguing addition to the UFC's strawweight ranks. A teammate of Jailton Almeida, that pedigree certainly shows when it comes to Moura's game, as her approach is built around getting the takedown and wreaking havoc on the mat - a game that has yet to fail thus far in Moura's professional career. Mexico's Montserrat Ruiz makes for an interesting first test in Moura's UFC debut, if only because she's also quite comfortable on the ground; an unorthodox fighter, Ruiz has found her most success flummoxing opponents with a combination of head-and-arm throws and scarf holds. It's strange enough to potentially cause problems for Moura, but there's just as great a worry that Ruiz will wind up putting herself in disadvantageous positions against a potent grappler - and frankly, that latter outcome seems much more likely. The pick is Moura via first-round submission.
