Angrrr Management Hits Hard

BRISTOL, England -- One thousand fight fans packed Alveston Hill in Thornbury on Saturday to watch two title fights at Angrrr Management.

Mysiala as well as a title eliminator bout for a shot at Chris Rice (Pictures) and the Middleweight belt, the evening saw some great displays of skills and heart.

Poland's Prezmyslaw Mysiala took a well-worked opportunity to submit Roman Webber (Pictures) in the first round to take the light-heavyweight title. After trading some brutal leg kicks, Webber saw an opening and rushed in with strikes forcing Mysiala to clinch. As his opponent tried to land a knee, Mysiala took control of the situation by stuffing Weber into the cage and scoring the takedown. As Webber scrambled to escape, Mysiala transitioned to take his back. Weber stoo dup, but Mysiala sunk the rear naked choke in deep and it was only moments before Webber submitted at 1:37 of the frst round. Speaking after the fight, Mysiala said,"I felt better for this fight than ever before and trained very hard. I cut my weight properly and felt very good."

Late replacement James McGuiness's debut ended in a hard-earned victory against featherweight Nick Orchard (Pictures). In the first round, the fight quickly hit the ground where McGuiness looked for the submission before taking top position and landing some strikes. In the second, McGuiness opened with a big overhand punch to set up the take down. Orchard tried to employ his jiu-jitsu but McGuiness passed his guard and rained down blows forcing him to turn where McGuiness sunk in the rear naked choke for the win at 1:56 of round two.

In a middleweight title elimination bout, Lee Austin and Jake Blyth engaged in a serious battle on the ground. With the fight going to the mat early in the first round, Blyth escaped and reversed Austin's mount to land some vicious elbows. However, Austin reversed and delivered pay back before Blyth escaped and dished it out again. Austin worked for a Kimura and again turned the action around before the end of the round. But Blyth was unable to continue after badly damaging his ankle in the first round during one of the scrambles giving Austin the win and the chance to compete for the belt.

Antanas Jazbutis (Pictures) secured an impressive victory over the game Jay Gilbey (Pictures) with a thunderous display of ground-and-pound. After trading shots on the feet, Jazbutis rushed in to score the takedown only for Gilbey to work first for a triangle and then an armbar. Escaping both, Jazbutis passed into side control and then to mount while dropping heavy elbows and punches that forced the referee to call a halt to proceedings at 3:19 of the first.

Ben Styles made his debut in impressive fashion, completely dominating Ross Mould over two rounds to take the unanimous decision. After trading big shots at the opening bell, Styles employed good wrestling to control his opponent on the mat and continuously punish him with strikes.

Paul Croft made short work of Rob Nesham in their featherweight bout. Debuting Croft traded with Nesham who tied the fight up where upon it hit the floor. Croft scrambled well to pull guard and sink in a tight guillotine choke at just 50 seconds of the first round.

Welterweight Natham Champ displayed dangerous sprawl-and-brawl skills against Dan Ford. After eating a jab, Ford shot in but Champ stuffed the takedown and began landing punches. Ford tried to pull guard but Champ put knee on belly and and took a ground-and-pound victory at 1:32 of the first.

In other action, heavyweight Steve Evans submitted Hywel Knight (Pictures) in the second round via guillotine at 3:13 after a back and forth heavyweight battle. ... Welterweight James Millard engaged in a stand-up scrap with Gavin Cunvin before submitting him via guillotine at 2:26 in the first round. ... In a grappler versus striker match, Richard Weeks and Scott Clist fought to a draw.
