Three’s company—except for Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo.

The two rivals will complete their trilogy when Moreno defends the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight crown against Figueiredo in the UFC 270 co-headliner on Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Their two previous meetings resulted in a majority draw at UFC 256 on Dec. 12, 2020 and a third-round rear-naked choke submission for Moreno at UFC 263 on June 12. Neither man has fought since their rematch.

As Moreno and Figueiredo moved ever closer to their definitive battle, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

28: Years of age for Moreno, who was born in Tijuana, Mexico, on Dec. 7, 1993.

11: Moreno victories by submission, accounting for 58% of his career total (19). His methods of choice: six rear-naked chokes, two triangle chokes, two armbars and one guillotine choke. Moreno owns three other victories by knockout or technical knockout and five more by decision.

18: Significant strikes by which Moreno has outlanded Figueiredo in their two head-to-head encounters. He has connected on 179 such strikes while absorbing 161 in return.

7: Organizations in which Moreno has competed as a mixed martial artist. He has gone 7-2-2 in the UFC, 5-0 in the World Fighting Federation, 2-1 in Ultimate Warrior Challenge, 2-1 in MEZ Sports, 2-0 in Xplode Fight Series, 1-0 in the Legacy Fighting Alliance and 0-1 in Chaos in the Cage.

.691: Cumulative winning percentage between the five men—Alexandre Pantoja, Sergio Pettis, Brenson Hansen, Ron Scolesdang and Marco Beristain Castillo—who have beaten Moreno. They boast a combined record of 65-29.

34: Years of age for Figueiredo, who was born on Dec. 18, 1987 in Soure, Brazil.

9: Figueiredo wins by knockout or technical knockout, accounting for 45% of his career total (20). His list of UFC victims: Joseph Benavidez, John Moraga, Joseph Morales and Marco Beltran. Figueiredo holds eight other wins by submission and three more by decision.

53: Seconds needed for Figueiredo to submit David Raimundo Arcangela Silva with a guillotine choke at a Jurunense Open Fight MMA event on March 20, 2014. Having occurred in his third professional assignment nearly eight years ago, it remains the fastest finish of his 23-fight career.

8: Knockdowns landed by Figueiredo as a UFC flyweight, placing him first on the promotion’s all-time list at 125 pounds. He ranks ahead of John Lineker (seven), Benavidez (six), John Dodson (six) and Kai Kara France (six).

42: Combined victories between the two men—Moreno and Jussier Formiga—who have defeated Figueiredo. They sport a cumulative winning percentage of .737 (42-13-2).
