By The Numbers: Jack Della Maddalena vs. Bassil Hafez

Ultimate Fighting Championship power brokers now look ready, willing and able to throw some of their promotional muscle behind Jack Della Maddalena.

The surging Australian contender will slide into a co-headlining spot for the first time when he faces former Cage Fury Fighting Championships titleholder Bassil Hafez as part of the UFC on ESPN 49 main draw this Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Della Maddalena rides into town on a 14-fight winning streak that spans more than six years. He last fought at UFC 284, where he put away Randy Brown with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their Feb. 11 encounter. Hafez, meanwhile, enters his organizational debut on the strength of back-to-back victories. He last competed on Feb. 17, when he punched out Evan Cutts in the third round of their clash under the Fury Fighting Championship banner.
