LONDON, Feb. 25 – The Wembley Plaza hotel once again played host to the Cage Rage weigh-in and rules meeting. Compared to previous events this was a rather smooth-running affair, with the only heated words of the evening coming from the mouth of Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos, who fortunately spoke them in Portuguese.

For the benefit of those who weren't there, Cyborg expressed a willingness to start the fight there and then. His opponent, the Frenchman Antony Rea, was unable to respond—possibly because he had no idea what his tattooed opponent was saying.

There have been two extremely late changes to the card. Rodrigo Araujo has been forced to pull out of his prelim fight against Andy Walker due to injury. Araujo's coach and Brazilian BJJ brown belt, Alex de Souza, has stepped in as a late replacement with only two days' notice.

James Zikic had been due to face Dutch powerhouse Melvin Manhoef in a last-minute match-up to compensate for injuries to Robbie Oliver and Chris Brennan. Unfortunately Zikic was injured yesterday in training, and was forced to pull out. Matthias Riccio had just arrived in England in order to watch the show. A text message later and the fearless Frenchman was suddenly on the card. Riccio was due to weigh in later in the day.

Finally, it seems that the decision to join Chute Boxe was one of the very best that Jean Silva could have made. The charismatic Brazilian informed me that he has been invited to compete in the PRIDE Bushido show in Japan. His debut appearance will probably be in May, with a second scheduled for later this year. Jean does not have an opponent confirmed yet, but Sherdog.com will be conducting an extensive interview with him tomorrow. Look out for that.
