KIDDERMINSTER, England, Oct. 13 -- In the main event of Angrrr Management 13, well-supported local fighter Marc Goddard delivered a very solid performance. He came back from heavy punishment to overwhelm his Italian opponent, Ivan Serati (Pictures), and pound him into submission midway through the second round.

Serati started strong, startling F's Freestyle fighter with punches and taking him to the ground with a well-executed trip. The Birmingham, England, fighter fought well off his back, regaining his feet only to find Serati tearing into him in the clinch.

Toward the end of the second round, Goddard brought his fans to life with a fantastic bodylock takedown and proceeded to franticly pound Serati, putting him in some serious trouble on the floor. Trapped on his back and under heavy fire, Serati had no choice but to submit, much to the ecstatic joy of the hometown fans.

Paul Reed (Pictures) did a fantastic job in his fight with Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Alexandre Izidro (Pictures). He racked up the points in the early rounds to earn a very tight split decision over the talented Cage Warriors lightweight champion.

Uncharacteristically the Brazilian grappler seemed more than happy to stand with Reed, despite taking some punishment as Reed scored with his jab and surged forward with left hooks. Izidro, to his credit, fired back valiantly, landing a very hard right kick to the body as the opening round drew to a close.

Over the following two rounds, Izidro fought hard to claw his way back into the fight, boxing well and putting Reed under heavy pressure with a barrage of strikes in the closing seconds. However, the judges were not persuaded by the final onslaught and handed the decision to Reed, prompting a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Another F's Freestyle fighter, Ross "The Boss" Mason returned from disappointing recent performances to put on an impressive display of strength and determination in his battle with the crafty jiu-jitsu fighter Henrique Santana (Pictures).

Unwilling to trade with the noted Thai boxer, Santana shot in for the takedown in the opening seconds of the fight, trying his best to take the fighter from Redditch, England, to the floor but expending a great deal of energy in the process.

Mason, though, did a good job of defending from his back as his tiring opponent pulled out all stops to seal the victory. Two minutes into the second round, Mason's strength advantage saw him bully his way back on top and land some brutal punches flush on the Brazilian's jaw.

Bashed and worn down to the point of exhaustion, Santana was in no position to continue, capitulating to the utter delight of Mason's army of local support.

In a match that promised fireworks, Total Dojo representative Przemyslaw Mysiala (Pictures) stopped the game Suregrip fighter Matteo Piran (Pictures) with a beautiful armbar four minutes into the fight.

Sweeping his way into top position, Mysiala made optimum use of his opportunity, dishing out a relentless beating from the mount. Rolling to his back for a triangle attempt, Mysiala then instinctively switched to an armbar, forcing a submission out of his dismayed Italian opponent.

The always technical and dangerous Chris Rice took down and destroyed Uzbekistan fighter Mamarizaev Jahingir with a series of vicious elbows and punches to seal the first of five wins for the F's Freestyle team.

Taking his opponent to the mat and achieving mount straight away, Rice went to work as if his life depended on him finishing within the first five minutes. He unleashed a barrage of abuse that gave his outclassed opponent no choice but to submit after two and a half minutes of blistering action.

Jay Gilbey and Nick "The Torturer" Orchard threw down with spiteful intent throughout their three-round contest. Both fighters came close with full-on power shots in a fight littered with meaningful exchanges.

It was MMA-promoter-turned-fighter Gilbey, however, who edged ahead with some slick ground work, scoring heavily from mount position en route to another very tight split decision.

In a rough war between two hungry youngsters, 19-year old Josh Ramage (Pictures) proved that he has vicious strikes by hounding his 21-year old opponent, Nick Hipkiss, all around the cage.

Showing some good striking and coming out on top in a sequence of truly bitter exchanges, the wild-eyed Ramage landed some damaging kicks to prevail after two hard-fought rounds.

The 40-year-old Mic Broster infuriated Total Dojo opponent Samir Medjbeaur, catching him with a quick armbar barely a minute into the contest. Keen to hammer his downed opponent, Medjbeaur handed him the briefest glimpse of an opportunity. Broster gratefully accepted, shifting his hips to slap on a tight armbar for the tap.

With a tattoo for every occasion, Barry Mears demonstrated that he not only looks the part, but he can bang like a true warrior, too, in his short battle with Ross Mould. Feeling out his range for the first minute, Mears then exploded to life with a sudden right hand that smashed squarely into the nose of his opponent and left him flat on his back in the center of the cage.

In the first fight of the night, Dean Aplin showed some decent control on the floor, as he swarmed over debut fighter Warren Kee before snatching a nifty armbar for an impressive first-round victory.
