SANTA MONICA, Calif. Aug. 11 -- For the third time this year the Santa Monica Civic played host to the Total Fighting Alliance. Three titles were on the line for this, the organization's seventh event, but no belts changed hands this evening.

In the only title fight to go the distance, Todd Guimond (Pictures) was able to out-point challenger Maurice Eazel (Pictures) by constantly staying active from the bottom. Despite having top position for a good portion of the fight, Eazel seemed to tire and spent more time defending submission attempts than inflicting any damage.

Although Eazel was able to secure several takedowns, it was Guimond who pushed the pace when the fight hit the canvas. With one judge seeing the fight as a close 48-47, the other two gave Guimond the clean sweep of 50-45 after five three-minute rounds.

Armando Sanchez successfully defended his title by a dominating performance over Justin Harris. Harris was able to get mount quickly in the fight but was just as quickly swept to his back where the fight remained until referee Josh Rosenthal halted the bout at 2:15 of the first round.

After the sweep, Sanchez was able to pass to side-control where he trapped Harris' left arm and rained down punches ala Hughes-Penn II. Unable to escape from this position, the fight was stopped and Sanchez earned himself another TKO in the win column.

It was a short night for JJ Ambrose (Pictures), who needed only one minute and 43 seconds to force the tap from Adam Lehman. After a slam to the canvas and a leg-lock scramble it didn't take long for Ambrose to set his sights on the choke and sink the guillotine, defending his title as well as the redemption from February's technical draw with Lehman.

Walking out with the middleweight strap, Jason Bukich had a great night with a tight armbar that left Daniel Hernandez no choice but to tap 1:08 of the second round. This bout marked Bukich's third submission win in a row and second this year.
