The Walkmen: UFC Fight Night ‘Pettis vs. Moreno’

By Mike Sloan Aug 5, 2017

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Mexico City on Saturday with more mixed martial arts mayhem. Sergio Pettis took on fellow flyweight prospect Brandon Moreno in the UFC Fight Night 114 headliner at Mexico City Arena, and as always, the songs the fighters chose to guide them to the cage added to the richness of the event.

Milwaukee’s Pettis strolled to the Octagon to Luis Fonsi’s wildly popular “Despacito” -- a track that has received more than three billion views on YouTube. El Tri’s “Cuandro Tu No Estas” trumpeted Moreno’s arrival, as one of the most colorful and likeable fighters on the UFC roster looked to make waves at 125 pounds.

Other standout choices included Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” (Alan Jouban), Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us” (Andre Soukhamthath), The Champs’ “Tequila” (Joseph Morales) and Los Lobos’ “Cancion Del Mariachi” (Roberto Sanchez).
