• The official attendance at the Wachovia Center was 17411, with a $3.55 million gate.

Anderson Silva stated that Forrest Griffin made the fight exciting by coming right at him. He said Thales Leites did not.

B.J. Penn said he was motivated by people booing him recently since being defeated by Georges St. Pierre.

• Dana stated he spoke with Roy Jones Jr. at UFC 101, but he does not like the idea of Anderson Silva boxing his “Royness.”

Dan Henderson at 185 pounds is Anderson’s next challenge, declared Dana.

• Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, stated that Silva just wants the biggest fights. It doesn’t matter which division, light heavyweight or middleweight.

• Submission of the night: B.J. Penn. He wins $60,000.

• Knockout of the Night: Anderson Silva. $60,000.

• Fight of the Night: Silva vs. Griffin. $60,000 each ($120,000 total for Silva).

• Silva lamented that UFC 205-pound champion Lyoto Machida is his brother, and he'd never fight him.

• White is unsure if a Johny Hendricks vs. Amir Sadollah rematch is needed.

• A fan threw an object at Anderson Silva as he exited the Octagon. Soares was visibly upset about the indecent.

Kurt Pellegrino praised the hometown crowd and said that Josh Neer trashed talked during the fight. "You hit like a b--ch," was among the pleasantries.

Tito Ortiz will fight Mark Coleman.

• The UFC is looking to do a show at Fenway Park in Boston.

Ricardo Almeida was waiting for his arm to pop so he could pass on Kendall Grove, until the Hawaiian adjusted his position to finish. As of 2:05 a.m. ET, he can’t straighten his arm.
