Mar 2, 2007
SOUTHEND ON SEA ESSEX, UK, Feb. 24 — Putting on only its third show, the UWC team has already secured a loyal and very vocal fan base in this coastal town.

With a card boasting a spectacular four-man lightweight tournament supplemented with no less than 12 additional fights, the sell-out crowd came expecting an excitement packed night and did not leave disappointed.

The action flowed thick and fast with all but one of the evening's bouts decided in the first round. In the main attraction, talented Brazilian Fabricio Nascimento added another tournament win to his résumé, as he almost effortlessly carved his way through the field, winning it all with two Kimura submission victories in an amazing combined time of 106 seconds.

On the undercard, Cage Warriors featherweight champion Danny Batten came through a brutal slam to catch an armbar victory in less than three minutes, whilst further down the card a talented stream of local fighters battled it out in the cage, demonstrating an entertaining mix of sublime submission ability and raw, spiteful aggression.
