Wladimir Klitschko Sued by Wife of Fighter who Underwent Brain Surgery, Suffered Seizures
Wladimir Klitschko, boxer and owner of K2 Boxing Promotions is
being sued by the wife of fighter Magomed Abdusalamov for injuries
he sustained in a bout with Mike Perez in 2013.
In documents obtained by TMZ.com, Abdusalamov underwent brain surgery and suffered several seizures following the fight at Madison Square Garden and his wife claims the bout should have been stopped.
Additionally, she claims Klitschko and his promotion company associates delayed getting medical attention to her husband.
In response, the Ukrainian boxer has filed an insurance claim through his company to cover the costs of any judgements pertaining to the lawsuit, but the insurance company has now asked a judge to announce that the policy specifically covers injuries like illness, disease or an accidental death outside the boxing ring that would have led to the cancellation of the fight.
A judge has not yet reached a decision.
