UFC TOPIC AT SOS CHURCH, PREMIERS EASTER SUNDAY
Mar 31, 2009
(PRESS RELEASE) -- Easter Sunday is rarely compared to the full
contact combat sport known as mixed martial arts, but that's
exactly what Spirit of St. Louis (SOS) Church in Arnold, Missouri
is doing. "Easter in the Octagon: The Ultimate Fighter" is the
kick-off service for a topic series entitled, "UFC: Becoming the
Ultimate Fighter," which will will continue through the remainder
of April.
Lead Pastor Tom Skiles commented, "MMA is becoming a very mainstream sport. Not many people would associate this type of thing with their faith. But that's what we're here for -- to show you how today's issues relate to the Bible and vice versa."
Skiles expects the series to attract even more attendees than normal. On April 12th, SOS will feature two services, one at 10:00 AM and a second at 11:30 AM, which is a huge milestone. "We've been running at capacity for several months now" Skiles said. "Being such a young church, I can't tell you how excited I am to be growing at such a rapid pace."
SOS Church meets at Simpson Elementary School in Arnold, Missouri. Visit www.soschurch.tv for more information.
