“I’ve officially been released,” Cruickshank wrote. “It’s been a pleasure and privilege to fight for the UFC. I am now currently looking for a fight elsewhere.”

Cruickshank is coming off a third-round submission loss to Paul Felder at UFC Fight Night in Boston on Jan. 17, his third consecutive defeat within the promotion. Including a “TUF 20” finale bout against K.J. Noons that was ruled a no contest due to an accidental eye poke, Cruickshank has not tasted victory since a three-round verdict over Anthony Njokuani in October 2014.

“The Detroit Superstar” went 6-6 in the Octagon, earning notable wins over Yves Edwards and Erik Koch. The Michigan Top Team representative is 16-8 as a professional overall, with nine wins via knockout or technical knockout.
