‘Cyborg,’ Villasenor Set for March 29
A middleweight duel pitting Joey Villasenor (Pictures) against Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos
has been added to Strikeforce's March 29 card at the HP Pavilion in
San Jose.
The bout will take place on the Showtime-aired Frank Shamrock (Pictures) versus Cung Le (Pictures) bill, confirmed Strikeforce representative Mike Afromowitz.
Villasenor, 24-6, last saw action in a hotly contested match with Japanese middleweight Riki Fukuda (Pictures) last September. The Albuquerque native edged Fukuda by split-decision.
Fresh off consecutive loses, March will be a busy month for Santos (15-11), as the Brazilian is already slated for a Wednesday scuffle with judoka Makoto Takimoto (Pictures) at World Victory Road's "Sengoku."
Also on the card, Jake Shields (Pictures) will put his 20-4-1 record on the line against UFC veteran Drew Fickett (Pictures) (31-5).
