A pair of new undercard contests has been added to the One FC 13 bill, which is now complete with 10 fights.
One Fighting Championship officials announced Tuesday that Ruel Catalan will replace brother Rene Catalan against Cambodian talent Khim Dima at the Dec. 6 event, which takes place at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The evening’s undercard will also see Filipino prospect Edward Kelly make his promotional debut against Major Overall.
One FC officials additionally announced that boxer Jujeath Nagaowa will not make her promotional foray at the event as expected, instead opting for a 2014 debut in light of an ongoing medical suspension.
Subtitled “Moment of Truth,” the show is headlined by a featherweight title rematch between Koji Oishi and Honorio Banario and streams live at www.onefc.livesport.tv. Immediately prior to the event, Sherdog.com will air a free One FC 13 video preview.
Catalan has competed five times as a professional but has earned just a single win in that span, most recently submitting to a first-round rear-naked choke this past April under the Legend Fighting Championship banner. Dima, meanwhile, saw a win over Rene Catalan in his pro debut changed to a no-contest after it was determined that illegal strikes contributed to the stoppage.
Unbeaten through five pro outings, Kelly makes his One FC debut on the heels of back-to-back wins in 2013, most recently outpointing Thai competitor Tanaphong Khunhankaew on June 15. In Overall, “The Rock” faces a once-beaten prospect who has earned all four of his pro wins via submission. Overall last competed in March, finishing Mark Kam with a gogoplata in 2:09.
