Adam Rothweiler-Hector Sandoval Flyweight Bout Scratched From TPF 13 Bill

By Staff May 7, 2012

The fight card for TPF 13 "Unfinished Business" hit another snag on Monday, as an expected flyweight clash between Adam Rothweiler and Hector Sandoval [pictured] has fallen through, according to a promotion official.

Sandoval was tabbed as a replacement for Ulysses Gomez, who withdrew from the fight after discovering a boil on the back of his leg that turned out to be a staph infection. Although the new bout was announced last week, Tachi Palace officials informed that Rothweiler never officially accepted the fight.

The promotion lost also lost its co-main event last week when Francisco Rivera pulled out of his matchup with Casey Olson to accept a spot on the May 15 UFC on Fuel TV 3 card.

TPF 13 “Unfinished Business” takes place at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Leemore, Calif. on Thursday and features a featherweight main event between former Bellator champion Joe Soto and ex- WEC competitor Chad George. The fight card streams live on

Rothweiler, a California native, has won three straight fights, most recently besting Dillion Croushorn in March. Sandoval has won four consecutive bouts since falling to Gomez in his professional debut in 2008.
